8 否定文

否定文は普通, 述語動詞の前に ne を置いて作ります。

Mi ne estas c^ino. (I am not Chinese.)

Mi ne povas paroli la c^inan lingvon. (I can't speak Chinese.)

Mi ne volas iri tien. (I don't want to go there.)

La pluvo ankorau~ ne c^esis. (The rain hasn't stopped yet.)

(注) 英語の現在完了形は, エスペラントでは過去形(-is)で表すことが多い。(3-4 動詞を参照)


nenio(nothing), neniu(nobody), neniam(never)などを使う否定文もあります。

Mi volas nenion. (I want nothing.)

Ankorau~ neniu venis. (Nobody has come yet.)

Mi konas neniun en la urbo. (I know nobody in the city.)

Tempo kaj tajdo atendas por neniu. (Time and tide wait for no man.) Proverbo (Proverb)

Neniam rompu vian promeson. (Never break your promise.)


3 ne は部分否定にも使われます。

Ne c^iuj pasag^eroj estis savitaj. (Not all of the passengers were rescued.)

比較: Neniu el la pasag^eroj estis savita. (None of the passengers were rescued.)


4 二重否定は英語と同じです。

Ni ne povas vivi sen akvo. (We can't live without water.)


5 その他

"C^u li venos?" "Mi timas ke ne." ("Will he come?" "I'm afraid not.")
